Dr. Alexa Yakubovich

Dr. Alexa Yakubovich’s multidisciplinary research focuses on improving understanding of the structural determinants of interpersonal violence, with a particular focus on intimate partner violence, and health inequities as well as developing and evaluating preventive and response strategies.

Dr. Yakubovich is an affiliate scientist with MAP Centre for Urban Health Solutions in the Li Ka Shing Knowledge Institute of St. Michael’s Hospital, and an assistant professor in Dalhousie University’s Department of Community Health and Epidemiology.

Dr. Yakubovich conducted her CIHR-funded postdoctoral fellowship at MAP from 2019-2021. She received her MSc and PhD in Evidence-Based Social Intervention and Policy Evaluation at the University of Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar and CIHR-funded researcher.
