Dr. Mandana Vahabi

As an expert in social epidemiology and community health, Dr. Mandana Vahabi researches and develops interventions to remove barriers to health care, with a strong focus on women’s health and cancer-screening disparities.

Dr. Vahabi collaborates both locally and globally with academic and community partners, leading multidisciplinary teams through socially engaged research and knowledge mobilization. Driven by the principles of social justice, inclusion, community engagement and capacity building, she works closely with equity-deserving communities.

Dr. Vahabi is a scientist at MAP Centre for Urban Health Solutions at St. Michael’s Hospital. She is a full professor and the Women’s Health Research Chair at Unity Health Toronto and the University of Toronto. Dr. Vahabi is also an adjunct professor at Toronto Metropolitan University, an ICES scientist and a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Nursing.
