Staples and MAP have come together to create Even the Odds: an initiative to raise awareness of inequity in Canada and to help build vibrant, healthy communities. Even the Odds will fund research and solutions to help make the future fair for everyone. Our partnership is based on the shared belief that everyone should have the opportunity to thrive.

Even the Odds will support MAP’s research and programs across Canada. It is a bold commitment to make a difference in Canada’s unique and diverse communities through corporate donations, fundraising and awareness.

MAP is a world-class research centre based at St. Michael’s Hospital, a site of Unity Health Toronto. Through innovative research and real-world program and policy solutions, MAP scientists tackle complex community health issues at the intersection of health and inequity. MAP’s 27 scientists and over 120 staff and students work in partnership with communities, researchers and government leaders across Canada to address issues such as homelessness, unequal access to health care and medicine, and the lifelong effects of childhood poverty.

Staples Canada is working with MAP to raise awareness of inequity in Canada. Staples is also making a multi-year commitment of three million dollars to fund the development of MAP’s research and programs, starting with a dollar-for-dollar match of customer donations up to $500,000 each year. This commitment includes fundraising campaign beginning June 28, in all Staples Canada locations across the country and through their online channels.
