The pandemic focused attention on inequities because COVID-19 spreading among disadvantaged people threatened those with privilege. The inequities that exacerbated the pandemic are still present. What has the pandemic changed with respect to the relationship between income security and health? What policy changes are needed now and during the next pandemic? We will discuss results of a clinical trial of income supports during the pandemic and evidence from prior to the pandemic.
