Did you know that 235,000 people across Canada are homeless each year? That’s more than the entire population of Windsor, ON, or of Burnaby, BC.
Research shows that the vast majority of people experiencing homelessness are unhoused due to circumstances beyond their control.
A future without homelessness is possible. What could it look like in Canada?
In this session, MAP Director Dr. Stephen Hwang and MAP researchers Dr. Naomi Thulien and Mardi Daley will explore:
- What the research shows: what works and doesn’t work to help people to get housed, stay housed, and regain their health and wellbeing
- MAP’s response: evidence-based solutions that disrupt cycles of socioeconomic exclusion and poor health
- Even the Odds’ impact: How your support has driven innovation such as the Navigator Program and the Transitioning Youth Out of Homelessness Program
